Sidney Sheldon’s Angel of the
Dark by Tilly Bagshawe leaves you nauseated. The storyline revolves around the
darker attributes of humans, including jealousy, extreme shelfishness,
psychotic disorders, hatred, grudge, lust and brutal savagery.
The two principal characters in
the story, Frankie Mancini and Sophie Smith, target vulnerable, elderly rich
men around the world. Sophie approaches the men with a false name, allures them
with her beauty, marries them and later manipulates them into writing their
entire property in her name. Later, the men are killed in a gruesome manner and
Sophie is found brutally abused. The rich men’s assets are then donated to
children’s charity. Hot on these murders are Matt, the son of one of Sophie’s
first victims, and Danny, a former LAPD officer who later joins the Interpol. Some
scenes in the novel are left to the readers’ imagination.
This book can be skipped for
better ones in the book shelf.
